Bishop Lynch golf teams wrap up season with Top 5 finishes at state

TEMPLE — Madi Gorman and Dalton McKinney nabbed All-State honors with Top 10 finishes at Tuesday's TAPPS 6A State Golf Championships at Wildflower Country Club.

Gorman finished seventh overall, helping the Lady Friars to fourth in the team standings for the second straight year. Gorman shot rounds of 82 and 84 to lead the team.

McKinney ended in a tie for 10th, then sank an eagle putt on a playoff hole to win the tiebreaker and grab the final Top 10 spot with rounds of 80 and 81. The Friars finished fifth overall as a team.

Lauren Campagna (87-86), Sophia Bartlett (90-100), Audrey May (96-95) and Lillie Frazier (103-100) helped the Lady Friars finish among the top four teams in the state.

Helping the Friars to a Top 5 finish were Jamie Ruengmateekhun (77-89), Jack Adams (85-97), Nick Freis (89-93) and Collin Schmierer (89-100).
