BL announces newest Sports Honor Roll inductees

On Friday, Oct. 13, Bishop Lynch High School will induct four new members into its Sports Honor Roll. The Sports Honor Roll was established in 1988 with the intent to commemorate exceptional Friar athletic accomplishments, while celebrating lifelong excellence consistent with the Dominican tradition of scholarship and service.

The new inductees — Shaun Daly '83, Scott Grimes '96, Theresa Morrison Mosmeyer '74 and Lindsey Smith '08 — will be recognized during a halftime ceremony at Roffino Stadium during the Friars' Homecoming football game against Prestonwood Christian.

Shaun Daly — Class of 1983

Shaun Daly was a standout athlete in three sports while attending Bishop Lynch, receiving All-District honors in baseball, football and basketball as well as All-State recognition in both baseball and football. Shaun received a scholarship to play baseball at Creighton University, where he was a four-year member of the baseball program. As an undrafted free agent, Shaun signed with the Kansas City Royals in 1987 and spent one year in the Royals' minor league organization.

Scott Grimes — Class of 1996

Scott Grimes was a member of the 1994 and 1995 state championship football teams at Bishop Lynch. As a four-year varsity member, Scott was named 1st Team All-State as a kicker in 1993, 1994 and 1995, 1st Team All-District kicker in 1993 and 1994, 2nd Team All-District receiver in 1993 and 1st Team All-Area by the Dallas Morning News in 1995. Scott was also a three-year member of the varsity soccer program and attended Rice University on a football scholarship.

Theresa Morrison Mosmeyer — Class of 1974

Theresa was a three-year member of the Brigade and varsity volleyball, and two-year member of the varsity track team. She was on the 1973 district champion volleyball team and served as a basketball manager in 1974. She returned later to coach the Lady Friar volleyball program for five seasons and currently serves as Athletic Director of the Dallas Parochial League.
