ARGYLE – The Bishop Lynch Friars survived a scare on the road Tuesday, holding off Liberty Christian for an important 7-5 district win.

The Friars (12-17-1 overall, 4-5 district) let an early 5-0 lead slip away as Liberty got within a run at 6-5 through five innings. BL added an insurance run in the seventh and sat down the Warriors in order to clinch the win.

Gabe Vasquez doubled home two runs in the first to give BL an early lead, then Blake Bautz doubled to add to the lead in the second. A triple off the bat of Collin Crenwelge scored another in the third.

Marc De La Valdene singled home Seth Torres in the fifth and in the final inning, Torres scored again on Joey Frausto's double.

Lucas Barrilleaux sat the Warriors down in order to end the contest.

The Friars host Liberty Christian tonight at 7 p.m., looking to sweep the season series before heading into the Easter break.
