Senior Night provided plenty of drama, including a late-inning rally to force extra innings on Friday. Unfortunately, the visiting team stole the show during bonus time as L.D. Bell put up six runs in the eighth inning to win 9-3.

The Friars (11-15-1) had trailed 3-1 before scoring a run in the sixth and another in the seventh to send the game to an extra frame. The Blue Raiders took advantage of four hits and a pair of walks in the extra time to put plenty of distance between themselves and the host Friars.

Larson Beaurline tripled, stole a base and scored twice to lead the Friars, while Darries Boyd and John McVicker each had a double. The Friars managed just six hits while striking out 12 times.

A total of five pitchers saw action for the Friars, including Max Danielsen, who started the game and tossed three hitless and scoreless innings. With the exception of a single walk, Danielsen was flawless in his appearance. George Hettrick was also strong in two relief innings, striking out four while giving up just one hit and no runs.

Will Haynes took the loss, lasting just 1/3 inning while allowing three hits, two walks, and five earned runs in the eighth.

The Friars return to their district schedule tomorrow, playing at first-place Prestonwood at 7:00 pm. The team will be home again on Friday at 7:00 pm against John Paul II.

Four district games remain and each is crucial as the Friars are currently tied with Bishop Dunne for third, and just two games ahead of Parish Episcopal for the fourth and final playoff spot.
