Varsity, novice crew members compete in New Jersey, Austin

Bishop Lynch rowers competing with Dallas United Crew were in New Jersey and Austin last weekend for separate events for varsity and novice competitors.

At the Mercer Junior Sprints in West Windsor, NJ, Grace Cook-Burton was part of a Women's Lightweight 4+ boat that finished fifth in its heat and also in Women's 8+ boat with Parker Stowers, Janey Jackson and Anna Savant that also finished fifth in its heat. Katie Hammonds in the 8+ boat placed sixth in the finals.

Luca Whittemore was in the Men's 4x boat that took fourth in the finals and Anson Smith helped his 8+ boat take second in the finals.

At the Texas Rowing Championship on Lady Bird Lake, the Women's Jr Novice 8+ boat finished fifth with Grace Clary, Izy McLain and Riley Stowers aboard. George Smith and Stephen Nygard were on the Men's Jr Novice 8+ that finished fourth, while Russell Campbell was on the fifth-place boat.

The crew members will compete again on Saturday, May 5, at the USRowing Central Regional Championships in Oklahoma City, with the top finishers qualifying for the Youth National Championships in June.
