Postseason awards come heavy for state finalist Friars

The Bishop Lynch football team came up four points short of a state title, but they certainly left an impression with the district and statewide voters, who handed out postseason accolades to a total of 20 Friars.

Bishop Lynch put seven players on the TAPPS All-State team and three more earned Academic All-State recognition. Senior Carson Garrett earned both All-District and All-State honors at two positions – kicker and punter.

The coaching staff handed out the postseason awards, including annual team honors, during Sunday's football team banquet. Below is the list of awards presented.
