Jordan Buck (12) scored a game-high 15 in the Friars' home opener Monday, a 73-59 win over Universal Academy.

The home crowd got their first look at the 2017-18 Friars and they weren't disappointed.

Bishop Lynch (3-0) stayed unbeaten, beating Irving's Universal Academy last night by a 72-59 score. The Friars routed Frisco Legacy Christian (74-47) and topped Waco's University HS (55-41) before Monday's home opener.

Jordan Buck scored a game-high 15 points in the home win, including four shots from long range, and Sean Coman added 13. Josh Garza and Steven Samuels each added nine.

Russell Barlow scored 11 in the win at Waco to pace a balanced scoring attack that included Coman (8), Zach Muller (8), Darrius Miles (8) and Jake Milkereit (7).

During the season opener in Frisco, Buck (16), Barlow (15) and Samuels (10) led the way offensively. Barlow added 11 rebounds to notch a double-double in his first game as a Friar.

The Friars will head south later this week for the San Antonio Christian Tournament, with two games Thursday against San Antonio Edison and Kerrville, plus a Friday game against San Antonio Cornerstone.

The Friars will be away from home until Dec. 5, when they host Bryan Adams in their final non-district contest.
