The Friars continue their hot start to the season as winners of their last three and nine of the last 10 games.
Bishop Lynch (11-2) placed fifth in the 32-team field at the South San Antonio tournament, featuring the top UIL teams from San Antonio, Houston, and a few from DFW. The Friars were one of only two private schools in the field.
They took down San Antonio MacArthur and Schertz Clemens, dropped a heartbreaker to eventual tournament champion Dallas Carter, then rebounded with blowout wins against Northside O'Connor and Silsbee, a defending UIL state champion from a year ago.
Jake Milkereit was named to the All-Tournament team.
On Tuesday, the boys went to Bryan Adams and returned with a 23-point win.
The team heads north to Greenville this weekend to take part in a shootout-style tournament. They return home next week with games against Greenhill on Tuesday, and Nolan Catholic on Thursday.
