The Friars notched their first district win of the season Monday, with a 1-0 decision at Parish Episcopal.

After a scoreless first half Monday at Parish, a single goal early in the second half made all the difference.

With a strong wind at their backs, the Friars broke the scoreless tie just five minutes into the second half as Ethan Roberts' throw found Burke Rogers flicked a pass to Jonathan Bruce, who blasted the ball into the roof of the net for the games' only goal.

The 1-0 win gave the Friars their first league win of the season and improved their overall record to 2-2-1.

Senior goalkeeper Alec Alvarez recorded his first shutout of the season in a stellar defensive effort.

BL returns to action Thursday afternoon in the Jesuit tournament. The Friars will open the event against the host team at 1 p.m.
