The men's soccer team is off to a hot start this season, winning their first three matches by a combined score of 13-0 with wins over HSAA, Greenhill, and Cornerstone Christian.
In the season opener – a 4-0 shutout against HSAA, Johnny Bruce netted two goals with Kevin Sifuentes and James Flint each scoring one. Jack Adams had two assists and Nico Bernal recorded the shutout.
Bishop Lynch (3-0) notched a 4-0 road win at Greenhill behind goals from Adams, Sifuentes, Mark Bernabe, and Adrian Martinez. Assists were picked up by Adams, Ryan Saldana, Sifuentes, and Landon Farrar. Bernal again recorded a shutout.
In the most recent competition, a 5-0 blowout win against Cornerstone Christian, five players scored goals for the Friars, including Adams, Bernabe, Bruce, Farrar, and Sifuentes. Assists were made by Adams, Martinez, and a pair from Sifuentes. Bernal picked up his third shutout win.
The Friars are home Thursday to open district play against rival John Paul II at 7 pm. They'll follow that with home games Dec. 3 against Parish Episcopal and Dec. 6 against Bishop Dunne.
