Lady Friars finish third at Thursday's meet in Wylie

The Lady Friar powerlifting team raised the bar Thursday, placing third as a team at a highly-competitive meet hosted by Wylie High School, featuring many of the top lifters from the region.

Bishop Lynch had five lifters medal in their respective weight classes, including Jasmine Ruvalcaba, Hannah Eboagu, Jane Onuoha, Kennedy Martin and Lillia Farlow. Many did so while posting personal best weight totals.

The results are as follows:

• Ruvalcaba (1st)

Squat – 350 (PR), Bench – 160, Dead Lift – 360 (PR), Total – 870 (PR)

• Eboagu (2nd)

Squat – 320 (PR), Bench – 160 (PR), Dead Lift – 345 (PR), Total – 825 (PR)

• Onuoha (2nd)

Squat – 275, Bench – 110, Dead Lift – 315 (PR), Total – 700

• Farlow (5th)

Squat – 225 (PR), Bench – 110 (PR), Dead Lift – 230 (PR), Total – 565 (PR)

• Martin (5th)

Squat – 270 (PR), Bench – 130, Dead Lift – 300 (PR), Total – 700 (PR)

Both BL teams will have the weekend off and compete again Feb. 4 at Emory Rains.
