The young Lady Friar softball team bounced back from a district loss to earn a big non-district victory Tuesday in Carrollton.

Bishop Lynch (4-6, 0-1) trounced Newman Smith by a 13-4 final score, just one day after dropping their district opener at Nolan Catholic.

The Lady Friars scored 13 runs off 15 hits and took advantage of three Newman Smith errors. The Lady Trojans managed just six hits.

Riley Cantrell led the offensive explosion with a double and home run, her fifth of the season. Freshman Lillia Farlow hit a home run, Megan Metry tripled and both Anabell Quinn and Gabi Quintanilla had doubles.

Senior Kristen Linares picked up the win inside the pitching circle.

The Lady Friars will resume district play this afternoon when they head to Trinity Christian for a 4:30 pm contest in Addison.
