Bishop Lynch increased its win streak to four games Monday, using the long ball to put Liberty Christian away early with a 9-1 win at Argyle.
The Lady Friars (9-8-1 overall, 5-1 district) hit three home runs and totaled eight extra-base hits during the contest. Riley Cantrell (7), Gabi Quintanilla (2) and Abby Thrash (1) all put balls over the fence.
Cantrell drove in the first run with a sacrifice fly in the opening frame to score Kristen Linares, who led off the game with a triple.
Thrash opened the second with a home run to left, her first of the season, and Megan Metry scored on a sac fly to make it 3-0.
Cantrell and Quintanilla led off the third with back-to-back homers, both to left field. Lillia Farlow singled to score Rhi Townsend for a 6-0 lead.
The Lady Friars added three more runs late in the game on a two-run single by Metry and a run-scoring double by Farlow.
Metry finished the game with three hits while Linares, Cantrell, Quintanilla, Thrash and Farlow each had two.
Thrash also picked up the win, tossing a complete game allowing just two hits and striking out 10.
Bishop Lynch remains second in the district standings, behind only Nolan Catholic (7-1). The two teams will meet Thursday in a big district showdown at Ferguson Park.
Nolan took the first meeting with BL back on Feb. 27.
