For the third time in four days, the Lady Friars have enforced the mercy rule against a district opponent. Yesterday's victim – John Paul II – made it to five innings, but still threw in the towel and took a 13-3 loss at Ferguson Park.

The Lady Friars (12-10-1 overall, 8-2 district) pounded 11 hits, stole 10 bases and blew the game open early with a 7-run second inning.

Gabi Quintanilla had two hits, two runs and two RBIs, Riley Cantrell slugged two hits and scored twice, Megan Metry had a pair of doubles and Abby Thrash doubled twice while driving in a team-high four runs.

Kristen Linares improved to 7-4 this season, earning her third win of the week inside the circle. In four innings of work, the senior allowed just one run, two hits and struck out three.

Bishop Lynch will wrap up a four-game week today with a trip to Ursuline (7-3 district). First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. The Lady Friars can clinch the district's No. 2 seed with a win.
