PLANO – The Lady Friars upped their win streak to five straight Tuesday, taking less than an hour to defeat Prestonwood Christian, 15-0.

Bishop Lynch (14-10-1 overall, 10-2 district) needed just 53 minutes and three innings to earn its 10th district victory. Two big innings – eight runs in the first and seven in the second – sealed Prestonwood's fate.

In the first, KyLeigh Freeman singled to score Gabi Quintanilla, Riley Cantrell doubled to bring home Freeman and Abby Thrash doubled to score Kristen Linares.

Lillia Farlow hit a single to bring home Alexis Martinez, Quintanilla singled and drove in both Farlow and Reiley Smith, then Freeman singled again, this time scoring Quintanilla and Maggie O'Connor.

The second inning saw Linares double to plate Cantrell, Thrash singled home Linares, Martinez drove in Megan Metry and Thrash with a single and Farlow scored on a passed ball.

Before the inning ended, Freeman drove in Martinez and Thrash singled to bring home Freeman.

The Lady Friars have secured one of the top two seeds in the district, as well as a home playoff game in the opening round.

Bishop Lynch will host Trinity Christian on Tuesday and wrap up district play with another game against Prestonwood on April 24.
