The Lady Friars are on to the next round after a big playoff win Friday over Concordia Lutheran. Freshman Lillia Farlow hit a three-run bomb in the second inning to open the floodgates as the Lady Friars cruised to a 14-4 win.

Bishop Lynch (18-11-1) will face San Antonio's Incarnate Word (22-7) tomorrow at East View High School in Georgetown at 4:30 p.m. with the winner clinching a spot in the state tournament.

Incarnate Word rolled past John Paul II in the opening round, 17-0. The Shamrocks are the defending TAPPS Division I state champions.

In BL's win over Concordia, Farlow put a ball over the fence in right-center to break a scoreless tie and give the Lady Friars a 3-0 lead. In her playoff debut, Farlow went 2-for-2 with 3 RBIs, two runs scored and an intentional walk.

Fellow freshman Gabi Quintanilla had three hits and drove in four runs. She tripled in the second to make the lead 5-0 and later scored on a wild pitch.

Kristen Linares singled and drove in a run to give the Lady Friars a 7-0 advantage. Quintanilla drove in two more in the third and Alexis Martinez scored on a passed ball giving BL a 10-0 lead after just three innings.

Reiley Smith had a two-run single in the fourth and Riley Cantrell tripled to drive in two runs in the fifth, which ended the game due on the mercy rule.

Abby Thrash earned the win, allowing just two hits and three earned runs while striking out four. Cantrell had two hits while Smith finished a perfect 3-for-3.
