Senior slugger Riley Cantrell wrapped up her high school career with a second 1st Team All-State selection, announced this morning by TAPPS.
This season, Cantrell hit .536 while leading the team with 36 runs, 37 hits, 40 RBI, 16 doubles and seven home runs. She also repeated s a 1st Team All-District selection. As a junior, she won the district's Offensive Player of the Year award but picked up the Defensive Player of the Year award this time.
Sophomore shortstop Quintanilla made the All-State list for the second time after a season that saw her hit .458 with 24 runs, 33 hits, 15 RBI, 10 doubles and 10 stolen bases. She was also 1st Team All-District for the second straight year.
Sophomore catcher Farlow made her first All-State list after hitting .471 with 15 runs, 33 hits, 29 RBI, 12 doubles and two home runs. She also excelled behind the plate, committing just three errors in 177 chances for a .983 fielding percentage. Farlow was 1stTeam All-District this season after making the 2nd Team as a freshman.
Junior pitcher Thrash earned All-State honors for the third time as the Friars' ace. As a freshman, she was Newcomer of the Year in the district and 1st Team All-District the last two seasons. This year she was a 2ndTeam All-District pick but gained All-State recognition for her work in the classroom.
Thrash finished 14-11 this season with a 5.19 earned run average and 166 strikeouts in 109.1 innings pitched. At the plate, she hit .452 with 28 hits and 20 RBI.
Kyleigh Freeman was awarded 2nd Team All-District honors after hitting .439 with 21 runs, 25 hits, and 17 RBI. She also went 3-0 in the circle with a 3.76 earned run average. She was also a 2nd Team pick as a freshman.
