Friars dominate pool against Woodrow Wilson

Bishop Lynch Aquatics took to the pool again last week, competing at home against Woodrow Wilson.

The Lady Friars had their toughest test to date. They started off strong with a win in the 200 medley relay, led by Ailish Tierney, Ella Price, Elli Jordan and Lindsay Hudspeth. The Lady Friars won a total of eight events on the night.

A special recognition goes to freshman Sofia Eliason for her performance in the 200 individual medley as well as freshman Sophie Robertson for her personal best in the 100 freestyle.

The Lady Friars came up short, losing to Woodrow 84-82.

The men had their most dominant performance of the season, taking the victory with a score of 98-62. The Friars won seven events on the night, led by junior Joe Weber with two victories. Fellow junior Joshua Ponewash is continuing to impress with his performances in the 100 and 200 freestyle. A special recognition goes to junior Ash Duy, who has stepped up to the challenge of taking on various events each meet.

The Friars are back at it when they host John Paul II and Nolan Catholic on Oct. 28 for Senior Night.
