Ten competitors from the Friars swim team qualified and competed in the North Zone 5A TISCA Invitational on Friday against 50 of the best high schools from across the state of Texas.
The Lady Friars started off competition in the girls 200 medley relay, posting a season-best time of 2:11.89 and was led by sophomores Lindsay Hudspeth, Elli Jordan and Kate Springs as well as team captain Ella Price.
The ladies also competed in the 400 freestyle relay with sophomore Annie Zajicek anchoring an impressive 1:02.9 relay split. The ladies were led by Hudspeth, who qualified for the finals heats in two individual events, placing 15th in the 200 freestyle and 14th in the 100 freestyle.
The boys put together their best 200 freestyle relay of the season, just narrowly missing out on a spot in the finals.
Their relay comprised of junior Shaughnessey Smith, freshman Luke Weber, senior Killian Baker and junior Joe Weber. They ended up dropping a full second off their final time, finishing with an impressive 1:39.55.
