Friar swimmers top JPII, Nolan and Dunne

The Friar swim team competed this past Saturday afternoon against John Paul II, Nolan Catholic, and Bishop Dunne. Both the girls and guys swim teams were able to come out on top. 

The girls were able to take down the three schools, winning by more than 40 points. The boys were able to win with ease, defeating the three teams by more than 70 points.

Freshman Hadley Beeson broke the school's 500 freestyle record for the second time in as many weeks, setting a new mark by 15 seconds with a time of 5:08.16. 

Senior Joshua Ponewash led his team to victory in both the 200 freestyle and 200 freestyle relay. Freshman Avery Smithen turned in her lifetime best swims in both the 200 IM and 100 freestyle. 
Both teams move to 4-1 on the year. The swim team will be back in action when they take on more than 50 of the best swim teams from the state of Texas at the 6A TISCA Invitational on Nov. 16.
