White repeats in high jump with record-tying performance at state meet

WACO — Bishop Lynch collected three medals, including two golds and a state meet and school record last weekend at the 2018 TAPPS Track & Field Championships.

Madison White won gold in the Girls High Jump for the second year in a row, matching the state meet record of 5-07 on her final jump, which also ties a school record from 2006.

Natalie Lark also took home gold in the Girls Pole Vault with a personal best vault of 10-06 and Diana Effiom won silver in the Girls Shot Put.

Ryan Huntress set a new personal record in the Boys Pole Vault at 12-00 and finished fifth, while Cole Rappaport finished seventh in the same event.

Effiom came close to medaling twice, finishing fourth in the Girls Discus and Kelli Nary was fourth in the Girls High Jump. Jake Bayouth and Giann Santon were fifth and sixth, respectively, in the Boys Discus event, while Jane Onuoha was fifth in the Girls 100m Hurdles.

Santos, Huntress, Effiom and Onuoha were named Academic All-State.
