Track season opens with meet in Wylie

With most of its athletes still competing in winter sports, the Bishop Lynch Track and Field program took to Wylie last week for the Mike Williams Invitational, touting a group of underclassmen to open the season.

The teams posted a number of Top 10 finishes despite finishing last in both team standings. However, the Friars and Lady Friars each gained valuable experience to use as the season progresses.

Ryan Huntress won the lone medal for Bishop Lynch, claiming silver in the pole vault with a personal record of 13-00. Jake Bayouth finished fourth in the men's discus, just a few feet out of the bronze medal spot.
