Lady Friars meet Prestonwood tonight looking to clinch district title

With three games to play in the regular season, it pretty much all comes down to tonight's contest against Prestonwood Christian.

The Lady Friars (13-0) host Prestonwood (11-1) tonight and Bishop Lynch can nail down a second straight district title with a win. Tipoff is at 6 pm.

Things haven't exactly been easy for the Lady Friars lately, having won their last three games by a combined 24 points with wins at Nolan (45-40), TCA-Addison (61-51) and most recently at home against Liberty Christian (61-52).

Last Friday, Endyia Rogers caught fire for a career-high 40 points, helping the Lady Friars overcome a slow start offensively in Addison. Rogers hit 16 of 25 shots from the field, including four shots from long range, and grabbed five rebounds.

Rogers is averaging a team-best 19.9 points per game.

The team got off to a hot start Tuesday against Liberty Christian, leading 22-10 after one period, but had to hold off a tough Liberty squad for a nine-point win. Rogers had 22 points, Nyah Green added 21 and eight rebounds. Paige Bradley grabbed 11 rebounds to go with six points and five assists.

The first meeting between Bishop Lynch and PCA was a good one, with the Lady Friars winning a close one in overtime, 51-47, back on Jan. 9 in Plano.

The Lady Friars struggled from the field, shooting just 31 percent (22-of-70). Rogers led the team with 15 points, five assists, four steals and three blocks, while Green grabbed nine rebounds.
