With a six-game win streak heading into Friday's non-district contest at Southlake, the women's basketball team is playing well, capturing a pair of tournament titles along the way.

The Friars (14-4) won four games in Abilene from Nov. 15-17 to take the Polk-Key City Classic title, knocking off Odessa Permian, Abilene Cooper, Jim Ned, and Abilene Wylie. Endyia Rogers (MVP) and Jaida Thomas were named to the All-Tournament team.

After a handful of tough games against Plano West, McKinney, and Irving MacArthur, the Friars took the Knights of Columbus tournament title, defeating Prince of Peace, St. Teresa's Mo.), and Rockwall. Rogers was an All-Tournament selection again, joined by sophomore Paige Bradley.

Head coach Andy Zihlman recorded career victory No. 1,000 against Prince of Peace on the opening night if the tournament at Bishop Lynch. The next night, Rogers eclipsed the 2,000-point mark for her career.

On Tuesday, the ladies toppled Desoto at home, giving them six straight wins and 14 wins in their last 15 games after an 0-3 start to the season.

The team faces Southlake Carroll on the road at 3:30 pm Friday before returning home Thursday, Dec. 13 against former district rival Nolan Catholic. After a two-week break for exams and the Christmas holiday, they'll open the Sandra Meadows Classic in Duncanville against Ridge Point (Missouri City) at 10:30 am on Thursday, Dec. 27.
