Bishop Lynch golf teams put together a great second day at the Regional Golf Championship on Tuesday to secure not one, but two tickets to the state tournament later this month.
Both the Friars and Lady Friars finished third in the team standings at Brookhaven Country Club and will compete at the TAPPS 6A State Golf Championships, scheduled for April 24-25 at the Wildflower Country Club in Temple.
On the boy's side, junior Jamie Ruengmateekhun finished third overall after rounds of 75 and 77 while sophomore Jack Adams turned in his best round of the year (78) to help the Friars advance.
Dalton McKinney shot an 81 on Day 2, Nick Freis had a first-day round of 85 and Collin Schmierer shot a 90 on Day 1 to help the team.
The Lady Friars had two finish in the Top 10 individuals, with Lauren Campagna sixth and Madi Gorman seventh.
Campagna shot rounds of 77 and 80 while Gorman turned in scores of 78 and 80.
Lillie Frazier overcame a 99 on the first day to shoot an 86 during the second round.
The Lady Friars overcame a nine-stroke deficit entering the second round.
