After hot start, Lady Friars suffer first loss of season

Bishop Lynch earned its fourth shutout win of the season last week, but fell into the loss column for the first time last night.

The Lady Friars (4-1) opened a five-game road tour with a 5-0 shutout of Prestonwood Christian last Thursday, but last night fell at John Paul II by a 3-0 score.

In the win at PCA, Alexis Sanders scored two goals while Kaky Kuby, Mallory Johnson and Aly Simpkins each added a score. Kuby assisted on two goals, Simpkins helped on one and Carissa Torres assisted on another.

Through five matches, Kuby (4 goals, 8 assists), Johnson (7 goals, 6 assists) and Sanders (7 goals, 3 assists) have been consistently effective.

The Lady Friars will be on the road for their next two district matches, at Ursuline on Thursday at 6:30 pm and in Fort Worth to take on Nolan Catholic at 7:30 pm on Nov. 27.
