BL ladies second in initial TAPPS Coaches Poll

After a pair of shutout losses, the Bishop Lynch Lady Friars bounced back in a big way Monday for a huge district win on the road.

Mallory Johnson and Alexis Sanders notched first-half goals in a 2-1 victory over Nolan Catholic, strengthening their hold on second place in the district standings. Kuby assisted on the goal by Johnson.

The Lady Friars (5-2) head to Greenhill this evening for their first non-district match of the season. Both junior varsity and varsity matches will kickoff at 5 pm.

District play resumes Monday, Dec. 4 when the ladies host Trinity Christian. They'll hit the road twice before the holiday break for matches at Bishop Dunne (12/7) and Liberty Christian (12/14).

The Lady Friars came in at No. 2 in the first TAPPS Division I Coaches Poll of the season. Ursuline is the top team and after Bishop Lynch is St. Agnes, followed by Nolan Catholic and John Paul II. Antonian Prep is sixth and Concordia Lutheran is seventh. Parish Episcopal, St. Pius X and Prestonwood Christian round out the Top 10, voted on by the TAPPS coaches every two weeks.
