
The month of December proved to be quite favorable for the second-ranked Lady Friars, who completed it with a perfect run of three matches, all by way of shutout.
With their winning streak now five, the Lady Friars (9-2, 8-2) earned road wins Tuesday at Bishop Dunne and last night at Liberty Christian by a combined score of 15-0. In December, the ladies outscored opponents by an 18-0 margin.
On Tuesday, the Lady Friars scored four times in the first half and twice after intermission for a 6-0 win. Kaky Kuby scored a hat trick and assisted another goal. Mallory Johnson scored twice and Alexis Sanders had a goal. Assists were also credited to Chase Malone, Shannon Chester and Johnson.
Last night in Argyle, the Lady Friars put together another four-goal opening half, then finished it with five in the second for a 9-0 rout of the Lady Warriors.
Kuby had another hat trick, this time with assists on two other goals. Marissa Santiesteban scored twice while Charlotte Lane, Sanders, Johnson and Chester added a goal apiece. Johnson assisted two goals while Carissa Torres, Nikki Chamagua and Malone each had a helper.
The Lady Friars return to action Jan. 4-6 when they compete in the National Elite Prep Showcase in Fort Worth. The ladies will face Belton at 5 p.m. on Jan. 4, San Angelo Central at 12 p.m. on Jan. 5, and Fort Bend Clements at 11 a.m. on Jan. 6.
