The Lady Friar volleyball team saw a ton of action last weekend with a total of nine matches played during the NISD Volleyball Classic in Trophy Club, a three-day event featuring the best of programs from the Metroplex.

Bishop Lynch (8-3) opened pool play Thursday with three straight wins over Bryan (2-0), Mesquite Horn (2-0) and Highland Park (2-0).

On Friday, the Lady Friars competed in a winner's pool, topping Flower Mound (2-0) and Frisco Reedy (2-1) before facing off with Lake Highlands for a spot in the Gold Bracket. After taking the first set, Bishop Lynch dropped the next two, giving Lake Highlands the pool victory and sending the Lady Friars to the Silver Bracket.

During Saturday's bracket play, Bishop Lynch opened with a tough 2-1 win over Frisco Wakeland and ended the tournament with 2-0 losses to Allen and Lovejoy. Bishop Lynch finished 11th out of 62 teams.

The team resumes play this afternoon with a dual match in Coppell. The Lady Friars face Coppell at 4:30 pm, then McKinney at 6 pm.
