The Lady Friars' brutal non-district schedule continued Tuesday, when the team earned two more road wins over UIL Class 6A programs.

Bishop Lynch (10-3 overall) defeated host Coppell in a five-set thriller before sweeping McKinney in straight sets during the dual match. Coppell entered the contest ranked No. 5 among 6A teams in the state.

The Lady Friars – ranked No. 1 in TAPPS 6A – got strong play from senior Elizabeth Moreland, who turned in a career-best performance with 20 kills against Coppell and 12 more in the win over McKinney.

Alex Galicia (43 assists), Hannah Osborn (26 digs), Chelsea O'Donnell (12 blocks) and Izzy Clavenna (15 kills, 10 blocks) were solid across both matches.

Madi Tyus (20 digs, 17 kills) and Lauryn Green (22 kills, 12 blocks) were also big contributors for the Lady Friars.

Bishop Lynch will open its district schedule next Tuesday, Aug. 29 when the Lady Friars host John Paul II. The junior varsity and freshman contests begin at 5 pm with the varsity to follow at approximately 6 pm.

The varsity contest will be streamed live on the Bishop Lynch Athletics official YouTube channel, which can be found at http://bit.ly/BLathletics.
