Lynch takes familiar spot on top with wins over Parish, Ursuline

Thanks to a stellar week in which Bishop Lynch beat all three of its strongest district foes, the logjam at the top of the standings is no longer.

The top-ranked Lady Friars (21-4, 5-0) followed a win over Prestonwood last week with a sweep of previously-unbeaten Parish Episcopal on Monday, then a tough road win at rival Ursuline last night in four sets.

Bishop Lynch beat Parish by scores of 25-18, 25-17 and 25-22, then put away Ursuline with scores of 25-18, 15-25, 25-13 and 25-22.

Alex Galicia totaled 50 assists in the two matches and Madi Tyus had 21 kills and 14 digs. Natalie Bennett led the defense with 37 digs.

The Lady Friars return home tomorrow to host last-place Bishop Dunne at 6 pm.
