Lady Friars overcome slow starts for tough road wins

Top-ranked Bishop Lynch got past a couple of slow starts on the road for hard-earned wins over John Paul II and Parish Episcopal during the past week.

The Lady Friars (26-4, 10-0) wrapped up a string of four straight road matches with their unbeaten district record intact and stretched their impressive district win streak to 58 in the process.

Senior Madi Tyus was instrumental in both wins, notching double digits in digs and kills. The Lady Friars also served up at least 10 aces in both matches.

Juniors Lauryn Green and Izzy Clavenna totaled 22 and 24 kills, respectively in the two matches. Hannah Osborn had 39 total digs and Alex Galicia put up 57 assists.

The Lady Friars host eighth-place Nolan Catholic (2-8) on Thursday at 6 pm.
