Five straight wins will surely give the Bishop Lynch volleyball team some juice when district play finally gets started Thursday at Bishop Dunne.

The Lady Friars (19-7) recorded sweeps of former district foes Nolan Catholic last Wednesday and Trinity Christian on Tuesday night. It was the second win over TCA with both coming in straight sets.

Head coach Tricia Roos has had the luxury of playing all 17 members of the team in both matches, giving an opportunity for some players to earn valuable experience moving into the most important stretch of the year.

Senior Lauryn Green led the team with 12 kills and a .625 attacking percentage as the Lady Friars beat Nolan by identical scores of 25-17, 25-17 and 25-17. She also served two aces and had two blocks.

Alex Galicia (17), Isabella Aguilar (13) and Elizabeth Edwards (10) each notched double-digit assist totals. Sydney Broussard recorded 15 digs.

Bishop Lynch defeated TCA by scores of 25-21, 25-19 and 25-18. Green (10 kills, 4 blocks), Broussard (10 digs), Galicia (19 assists) and Aguilar (12 assists, 2 aces) led the way.
