The victory train continues to roll for Bishop Lynch, winners of seven straight overall and 66 consecutive district matches following sweeps of Bishop Dunne and John Paul II to start league play.
The Lady Friars (21-7, 2-0) eased past both of their first district opponents, setting up a highly-anticipated matchup at Parish Episcopal on Thursday at 6 pm.
Bishop Lynch swept Dunne by scores of 25-12, 25-8, and 25-12. Last night, the ladies put away John Paul II with scores of 25-11, 25-20, and 25-16. The Lady Friars have swept all five of their September opponents.
Bishop Lynch hit .330 with 43 kills at Dunne and served 6 aces. Last night, the ladies hit an astounding .445 with 46 kills and just 6 errors. They also served 8 aces.
• Seniors Lauryn Green and Izzy Clavenna continue to wreck opposing defenses with sky-high hitting percentages. The two combined for 47 kills and just 16 errors against JPII and Dunne. Clavenna also served 5 aces in the win over JPII. Green recorded 6 solo blocks.
• Coach Tricia Roos continues to take advantage of her team's dominant play, giving valuable playing time to every player on the roster in both games.
The Lady Friars head to Parish on Thursday for a 6 pm varsity contest with first place on the line. The team returns home next Tuesday to host Bishop Dunne, also at 6 pm.
