BL earns Top 10 finishes at opening meet

MIDLOTHIAN – The 2017 cross-country season began Thursday for Bishop Lynch at the James Smith Invitational. Both the men and women earned Top 10 team finishes.

The Lady Friars finishes sixth overall, led by Anna Schrader (22nd), Elissa Dryden (23rd) and Anne Stewart (29th). Other finishers for the women include Jasmine Rodriguez, Chloe Phillips, Hope Hill and Emma Hartmann.

The Friars finished ninth in the team standings behind strong runs by Luke Hernandez (10th) and Ryan Sheaffer (19th). Other competitors for the men include Killian Baker, Joseph McDonald, Christopher Dunn and Lucas Herrmann.

The teams will compete again Sept. 16 in the Gerald Richey Invitational, taking place at Arlington's Lynn Creek Park.
