DALLAS, TX -- White Rock Rowing, the only Dallas rowing club to hold multiple national youth championship trophies (2014, 2021), returns from the highly anticipated Texas Rowing Championships held on April 22 - 23, winning first place in six events and placing 13 boats in the top three. In 2022, the White Rock Rowing team also placed in several top spots, most notably the gold in the Men's Novice 8+ Final. This year the team took home six gold medals in the Women's Youth 4+, Men's 8+, Men's U17 8+, Men's U16 8+, Men's 2- and Men's Novice 8+. The 2023 state championships were located on Tradinghouse Lake in Waco, TX, with 16 junior and 5 collegiate crews.
"Our junior athletes participated in over half of the races and did an amazing job. It's great to see that our novice and varsity teams each year perform well thanks to the leadership of our coaching staff. We look forward to representing Texas in the 2023 USRowing Central Youth Championships next month in Oklahoma," said Sue Ellen Chambers, board chair of White Rock Boathouse, Inc., which houses White Rock Rowing.
