Stuart Kantor

Coach Stuart Kantor is entering his 29th year coaching and teaching at Bishop Lynch. Coach Kantor is entering his third year at the helm of the Friar Cross Country-Track & Field programs. Coach Kantor has been a part of six state championships at BL: one in football, one in basketball, and four in Track & Field. As a track & field coach, he’s coached the current school record holders in men's and women's high jump and pole vault. All four of these athletes have gone on to compete at the next level - University of Louisville, High Point University, and Prairie View A&M University. [A fourth, Madison White, won the TAPPS State High Jump title three consecutive years. She starred as a goalie for Texas Tech and is now in the NWSL.]

Coach Kantor was inducted into the Texas Track & Field Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2023 as a contributor to the sport. As a teacher, Coach Kantor has won the Arete Award, the Diocesan Teacher of the Year award, and the National Honor Society Teacher of the Year award twice. Coach Kantor graduated from the University of Florida with a master's in English Education. Coach Kantor is an Angelico House mentor and the author of seven books. Coach Kantor has been married to Kat for 35 years. They have one son, Matthew (Class of '08), who’s married to the former Heather Pregartner. They both attended Warren Wilson College in Asheville, NC. They have identical twin granddaughters.
