Stewart Brown

Coach Brown is entering his third year as the head men's soccer coach at Bishop Lynch High School. A former professional player for Queens Park Rangers F.C. in London, Brown grew up in Scotland, where he developed a deep appreciation for positive coaching and the aesthetic design of the game.

Before arriving at Bishop Lynch, Brown’s coaching career included stops at the collegiate, high school and youth levels in Texas and South Carolina. While leading the Highland Park High School girls soccer program, Brown guided the team to three state championships, six state final appearances and a national No. 1 ranking in 2017. He was named USA Today’s Girls Soccer Coach of the Year in 2020 and has earned multiple state Coach of the Year honors. He still holds the highest winning percentage of any active or retired UIL soccer coach.

Brown moved to Dallas from South Carolina to serve as the lead assistant coach at SMU. During his tenure, the Mustangs won four conference championships, made four NCAA Tournament appearances and produced the program’s most recent All-American goalkeeper. Prior to SMU, Brown was the Director of Soccer at Limestone College, where he was named Conference Carolinas Coach of the Year for both the men’s and women’s programs.

He earned a Master of Arts in Health and Exercise Science from Furman University (S.C.) and a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine from Alderson-Broaddus College (W.Va.). He also holds a Texas principal certification through Lamar University.

Brown holds a Premier Diploma, Advanced National and National Diplomas, and Goalkeeper Level I and II certifications through United Soccer Coaches (formerly NSCAA).
