The district title is in hand, the top seed tucked safely away and all that's left for the Friar soccer club in this regular season is to bid its senior class "farewell."

The Friars (12-3-1, 8-0) wrapped up their second straight district title a week ago, so the suspense of a late-season shift in the rankings hasn't seen life, instead, the Friars posted their biggest win of the season then wrapped up league play with a textbook defeat of Prestonwood Christian on Monday.

The Friars dropped HSAA by an 8-1 count last Thursday, with a pair of goals from Cooper Stephens, a pair from Mark Bernabe, and single tallies from Jack Adams, Michael Ayala, Anthony Medina, and Johnny Bruce, who also had two assists. The Friars scored six goals in the second half.

In the win over Prestonwood, Adams, Stephens, and Bruce each scored a goal, helping the Friars to an early 3-0 lead before PCA got a late goal to avoid a shutout. Adams and Bruce each had an assist.

The Friars host Trinity Christian for Senior Night at Roffino Stadium at 7:00 pm Thursday. The TAPPS Division I playoffs are scheduled to begin Feb. 12 with the Friars most likely hosting Liberty Christian, the third-place team from District 1.
