Bishop Lynch stole a district win at John Paul II on Thursday, gaining sole possession of first place and sending the hosts down to third with a 3-1 victory.

The Friars (16-13-1, 3-1) have won three straight in district play following a loss to the same Cardinals to open the league schedule. With just two games left in district play, the Friars are close to securing another district title.

Gabi Quintanilla doubled, stole two bases and went 4-for-4 at the plate for half of the team's eight hits. Lillia Farlow also doubled and Natalia Escalante had a pair of hits.

Tabitha Jackson earned the win – her 12th of the season – tossing a complete game on just 75 pitches while surrendering just four hits, one run (unearned) and a walk.

The Cardinals scored their only run in the second while the Friars were scoreless until the deciding sixth inning. Quintanilla led off with a single then scored the tying run on a sacrifice fly from Jackson, who would advance to second on an error. Farlow's double scored Jackson as the winning run, and with two outs, Farlow would later score on a passed ball.

The Friars head to Bishop Dunne on Thursday for a 5:00 pm district contest and hit the road on Friday for a non-district game at Liberty Christian, also at 5:00 pm.
