The Bishop Lynch softball team will head into the playoffs riding a 10-game win streak, thanks to Monday's 11-1 run-rule win over Ursuline in a playoff warmup game at Ferguson Park.
The Friars (21-13-2) enter the TAPPS Division I playoffs as the top seed in District 2, and they'll open the postseason with an area playoff game against Trinity Christian, the fourth seed from District 1. Details for the game are still unavailable as of Tuesday morning.
On Monday, Gabi Quintanilla went 4-for-4 at the plate with a double, four RBIs and three runs scored. Alexis Martinez doubled, drove in a pair of runs and had two hits. Marielma Garcia drove in two runs and Kylie Freeman added two hits.
Tabitha Jackson earned her 17th win, pitching all five innings and allowing just six hits and one run.
The Friars' win streak started March 25 and the team hasn't lost since their district opener on March 20. During the streak, the team has recorded five run-rule wins and outscored opponents by a margin of 105-23.
