Bishop Lynch Track & Field teams competed for the last time before this week's district championships, during the Lion Relays in Plano on Friday.
The women's varsity team finished fourth with 68 points, just six points out of third, while the men's team was seventh with 61 points, but just four points out of fifth and 12 away from the Top 4.
The women earned a total of five medals, with three coming in field events. The men won three medals, all coming in the field.
Madison White (high jump) and Natalie Lark (pole vault) won gold for the women, with Lark also earning points with a fifth-place finish in shot put. Elli Jordan took bronze in the shot put and finished fourth in the discus.
Freshman Evie Trent won a bronze medal with her time in the 300-meter hurdles, and the 4x200 relay team of Jaida Cole, Jillian Jackson, Jennifer Obi, and Trent clocked a time of 1:48.70, good for silver. Trent also finished fifth in the 100-meter hurdles.
On the men's side, BK Obi and Robert Teal tied for bronze in the high jump, while Ryan Huntress cleared 12 feet in the pole vault for a bronze finish. Freshman Buzz Jerde came up fourth in the shot put, Michael Parrish was fourth in the 300-meter hurdles, and Luke Hernandez finished fourth in the 1600 meters.
Thursday's district meet at Prestonwood Christian is scheduled to begin at 10:00 am.
