Sports Hall of Fame
Kevin Wainscott enjoyed one of the most decorated careers in Bishop Lynch wrestling history. During his four years with the Friars, he helped the team secure four TAPPS State Championships from 2002 to 2005. Individually, Wainscott was a four-time TAPPS State Champion and a four-time Texas Prep State Champion. He was ranked the No. 1 Texas High School Wrestler (UIL/Prep) and by the Dallas Morning News as the top wrestler in the state.Â

Wainscott's leadership was equally notable, serving as team captain from 2003 to 2005 and guiding the program to a No. 7 national ranking.Â

After high school, Wainscott competed for Oklahoma State University under legendary coach John L. Smith, finishing with a career record of 33-19 and earning Second-Team Academic All-Big 12 honors as a senior. He then transitioned into coaching, beginning at Centennial High School in Frisco before becoming head coach at Lake Highlands High School, where he continues to lead today.Â
