FORT WORTH — Bishop Lynch passed its first playoff test with flying colors, sweeping All Saints on Thursday and setting up a third meeting with Parish Episcopal in Tuesday's TAPPS 6A area playoff round. The Lady Friars (19-14) disposed of All Saints by scores of 25-19, 25-15, and 25-14, behind a highly efficient hitting performance (.240%), totaling 32 kills with just nine errors on 96 attempts.
Freshman

Katie Blomberg added six.
Avery Kinzer and
Emma Cuneo each had four.
Lyric Berry had a game-high 5.5 blocks and the Lady Friars totaled 10.5 blocks in the contest.
Sydney Broussard served up four of the ladies' eight aces.
Bishop Lynch grew more confident as the match went on, hitting .143 in the opening set, then improving to .206 in the second. The third set was a textbook closeout performance as the Lady Friars hit .500 with 10 kills and no errors on 20 attempts.
Bishop Lynch will look for a better outcome next week in its third meeting with district champion Parish Episcopal (25-8). The Lady Friars lost 3-1 at home against the Panthers on Sept. 19 (scores: 21-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-18). They fell by the same 3-1 score at Parish on Oct. 8 (scores: 30-28, 11-25, 25-22, 25-21). Despite a 6-2 deficit in sets won against Parish, the Lady Friars have played very close to the Panthers, with an average point differential of 3.8 points.
The winner of Tuesday's area match will advance to the regional round at Dallas Baptist University on Saturday, Nov. 2. Tuesday's match can be heard free on our internet radio channel:Â
