WACO — Bishop Lynch rode a wave of playoff magic into the TAPPS 6A State Volleyball Championships but ran out of good fortune Friday against defending state champion Prestonwood Christian.
The Lady Friars (21-15) were swept by Prestonwood in straight sets, ending their season by scores of 25-12, 25-21, and 25-19. It was the third time Prestonwood defeated the Lady Friars this season.
Charlotte Hain had a team-high 13 digs,
Alex Galicia has 12 assists, finishing with 1,848 assists in her brilliant three-year varsity career.
Lyric Berry had five kills and two blocks.
Friday's game marks the end of six high school careers, as seniors
Elizabeth Edwards,
Serena Earp,
Liberty Buckholt,
Kendall Hardesty,
Izzy Aguilar, and Galicia.
Fortunately, the Lady Friars will return their top five hitters, statistically, top three in digs and top five in blocks. Plus, the program expects to have hitter
Harper McDonald back after missing her entire junior season with an injury. McDonald tallied 150 kills as a sophomore reserve in 2018-19. Â
