It had been a while since the Friars played in front of a home crowd, and on Tuesday they gave the fans in attendance quite a show, sweeping Naaman Forest before rallying from two sets down to top Rockwall-Heath in a 3-2 thriller.
The Friars (10-7) host Trinity Christian Academy tonight at 6:00 pm, looking for a third straight win, before heading to Highland Park tomorrow evening for a fourth non-district match in as many days.
Bishop Lynch made short work of Naaman Forest in the first match of the Tuesday doubleheader, putting away the Rangers by scores of 25-18, 25-22, and 25-18. Freshman
Leah Oyewole had a team-high eight kills,
Alex Galicia had 11 assists and
Elizabeth Edwards set 10 assists.

The Friars served a total of 11 aces in the match, four from Galicia and three by
Jenny Canavan. Galicia and
Sydney Broussard each had seven digs on the defensive side.
In the second match, Heath took a 2-0 lead before the Friars stormed back to win by scores of 24-26, 18-25, 25-22, 25-21, and 15-13. Galicia had 25 assists in the contest, putting her over 1,500 for her career.
Liberty Buckholt paced the Friars with 10 kills while
Lyric Berry and
Katie Blomberg each added eight. Edwards added 19 assists,
Emma Cuneo had four blocks, and
Charlotte Hain posted 23 digs in the contest.
