Tricia Roos reached a coaching milestone Tuesday, reaching career victory No. 400 with the Lady Friars' sweep of Fort Worth All Saints in the Competition Gym (25-8, 25-3, 25-22).
Roos was able to play all 19 girls in uniform during a match that saw Bishop Lynch (12-8) cruise to victory. The match lasted just 62 minutes.
Freshman
Lyric Berry led the attack with nine kills to go with four blocks,
Alex Galicia set 11 assists and,
Charlotte Hain recorded 16 digs. The Lady Friars served nine aces, with four from
Sydney Broussard and three from Hain.
The ladies posted a .253 attack percentage in the match with 28 kills and just nine hitting errors in 75 attempts. During the very lopsided second set, Bishop Lynch had seven kills and just one error on 11 attempts (.545).
Berry's nine kills give her 100 for the season, and she leads the team in that category. She is also the team leader in blocks with 41.
With a career record of 400-124 (.763 win percentage), Roos is in her 13
th year at the helm of the volleyball program, having recorded 10 seasons of 30 wins or more and a program record 41 wins in 2009. She's led the Lady Friars to five state championships (2008, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015).
The Lady Friars are home again Thursday to host Nolan Catholic. The varsity match is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
