Bishop Lynch wraps up the regular season with a sweep over Parish

DALLAS, TX -- It is important for teams to start playing their best when playoff time comes around, and the Bishop Lynch volleyball team may be doing just that as they swept Parish Episcopal 3-0 last night in their regular-season finale. The Friars now have back-to-back sweeps to end the season with their focus now on the playoffs.

Statistically, the Friars dominated the Panthers last night on their way to the victory. As a team, BL hit a season-high .347 to the Panthers .110. The Friars also had 14 total aces, which is the second most they have had all year and their most in a district match this season.

Madison Pflum is really coming into her own during the backstretch of the season as the sophomore led the team last night in kills with 10 while hitting .563. During district play this year, she has been the most successful hitter with a .333 hitting percentage.

Delaney Moon continued her great defensive play, recording double-digit digs for the  18th time this season as the senior had 10 last night. With those 10 digs, the senior reached 800 for her career.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Claire Hatfield came out of the gates swinging last night, resulting in a team-high four kills in the first set. The Friars assisted on all 15 kills while recording five aces to take the first set 25-15.

The second set was the Friars' best set, recording 18 kills with only two errors and a hitting percentage of .552. Pflum recorded five of her 10 kills in this set on only six attempts. Hatfield had another great set, as the senior added five more kills to help BL take the 2-0 advantage with a score of 25-16.

The third and final set really belonged to Maia Raleigh. The freshman had an ace, four assists, and six digs to help the Friars take the set 25-13 Pflum and Aven Crosby led the team in kills with three each.

SUB-VARSITY
JV1: The junior varsity ended their season on a high note with a 2-0 victory over Parish Episcopal last night. This victory extended their winning streak to 10 games and improved their overall record to 21-4, 10-1.
