Fourth quarter comeback earns Friars gritty road victory

ARGYLE, TX -- Down 51-41 with under seven minutes left, the Bishop Lynch Friars dug deep, rallying to defeat Argyle High School 59-55 on the road. The Eagles, ranked #6 in 5A/Others by the Dallas Morning News, were favored, but that didn't deter the resilient Friars. 

Jeremiah Williams led the scoring with 22 points, but it was Nathan Day's clutch playmaking that set the comeback in motion. Immediately after Argyle stretched their lead to 10, Day found junior Isaiah Baker open on the left wing for a critical three-pointer. On the very next possession, Day again delivered, this time to senior Grady Norton whose three-pointer brought the Friars within striking distance at four points. 

The Friars' comeback was fueled by relentless defense. They held Argyle to just 2-for-8 shooting in the fourth quarter, forced four turnovers, and drew two charges, adding to the Eagles' frustration and even drawing a technical foul through their intense pressure. 

Senior captain Nathan Day not only filled the stat sheet with eight points, six assists, four rebounds, and three steals, but he continues to impress with his poised demeanor as the season unfolds.
