Friars Hold Off Late Surge, Remain Undefeated

DALLAS, TX -- Nikolas Bartkoski scored a goal and added an assist as Bishop Lynch held off a late push from HSAA on Monday night to secure a 3-2 victory at Roffino Stadium. The Friars held a comfortable 2-0 lead late in the second half before the teams combined for three goals in the final minutes.

Julian Neuman opened the scoring with a spectacular strike from 30 yards out, giving Bishop Lynch a 1-0 lead at halftime.

The Friars doubled their advantage after Noah Chac made a run down the right sideline and his cross was deflected right towards Lucas Martinez. Martinez then set up Bartkoski, who buried the shot to make it 2-0.

HSAA cut the lead to one, but Bartkoski responded with a perfectly placed long through ball to Jack DeSmeth. DeSmeth stumbled in the box but recovered to finish the goal, putting the Friars up 3-1 in what proved to be the game-winner.

HSAA scored again late, but Bishop Lynch held firm to remain undefeated, improving to 2-0-1 on the season.

Next Up:
The Friars return to action Thursday, Nov. 21, with another home game against The Covenant School. The match is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Roffino Stadium.
